Economic Development Foundation - Sri Lanka (EDFSL)
The Economic Development Foundation - Sri Lanka (LBG) is a legally registered non-profit Organization, [incorporated under the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982 in Sri Lanka (Registration No. N(A) 786 GA 519)] dedicated to fostering sustainable prosperity in Sri Lanka's rural communities. Our integrated approach empowers individuals and strengthens entire ecosystems through targeted, actionable programs. We cultivate entrepreneurship via our Rural Startup Accelerator Programs, which provide aspiring local founders with critical training, mentoring, and seed micro-grants to launch and grow their ventures. To modernize the agricultural backbone of the rural economy, our Agriculture Innovation Programs introduce farmers to new technologies and sustainable organic methods, boosting yields and environmental health. We champion economic inclusion through the Women’s Skills Hubs, offering training in marketable skills like tailoring, food processing, traditional crafts, and ICT to unlock new income streams. For the next generation, our Youth Career Pathway programs build essential competencies in English, IT, leadership, and soft skills, bridging the gap between education and employment. Finally, our holistic Village Development Projects address foundational community needs, improving sanitation, securing clean water access, and providing educational support, to create the stable, healthy environments where all our other initiatives can take root and flourish. Together, these interconnected efforts form a comprehensive blueprint for building resilient, self-sufficient, and vibrant rural communities.
